Getting to know you... Tim Maloy

Weekly quick-fire interview allowing you to get to know the ECN members.

In the spotlight this week we have Tim Maloy from Cavewood Productions.

ECN: Name of the closest animal to you, and where are they?

TM: Bastis (pictured above). Bastis is a cat that used to sleep in our stables, who managed to move in to the house and offices and has never looked back. Usually found in one of our edit suites sleeping on the monitor.

ECN: Your USP in 10 words?

TM: We’re filmakers with a lifetimes experience of competing and owning horses.

ECN: What’s the best thing about your job?

TM: Spending our time filming horses of all shapes and sizes from hairy driving cobs to Valegro .

ECN: Tell us about your most memorable project?

TM: The first time we filmed Bramham Horse Trials. The funding was put in place 3 days before the first horse ran. We had a crazy few days getting out team in place but the event couldn’t have been more helpful and we had a great time and produced a great TV Programme for Horse & Country TV.

ECN: What/who inspires you?

TM: I’m inspired watching equestrians perform at all levels. I understand the dedication needed to compete and am always inspired to see people and horses try their very best.

ECN: How do you unwind?

TM: Believe it or not, going to horse shows! We took some time out from competing in Horse Driving Trials to concentrate fully on building the business, but the pull was too much and we’re now back in training and bringing a young pony out to compete at Nationals.

ECN: What gets your creative juices flowing?

TM: Horses are so beautiful to film that I’m constantly trying to make them look as good as i can.

ECN: What does the future have in store?

TM: We have some great projects lined up for this year and we’re excited to be pushing equestrianism to a wider and wider audience.
