All hands on deck at EquiConsulting

In the second EquiConsulting blog for ECN the plan was to highlight the what, why and how for Customer Experience but after an incredible two weeks on the road immersed in the world of elite eventing it’s a change of topic to talk about manic May!

Manic May galloped into gear for EquiConsulting at Badminton Horse Trials – that world-famous event in glorious Gloucestershire where dreams are made and broken. We’ve been visiting the home of eventing ever since we can remember and it was watching Badminton on the BBC one year that we found our love of horses, but this year’s visit was a little different. With Shearwater Insurance and Equine Construction both sponsoring the Event Horse Owners Association there were clients to look after. Joining the social media conversation was a great chance for these companies to gain a little extra exposure and reach from their involvement.

It wasn’t just the corporate clients at Badminton though, with 3 competing rider clients it was all hands to the deck to manage social media channels and websites to make sure friends, family, fans and supporters were all kept up to date across all available platforms. With a combined Facebook reach of over 300,000 for these 3 riders it gives them a great chance to showcase not only their own talents but also show some love for sponsors. Engagement levels were super high, which yes creates us more work but also creates additional value for all those riders and brands involved.

We also have this little site called The Bit UK which took a Bit of updating… have a read and look at the pictures if you want to relive some of the action!

So, a quick change around back at the office and then it was off to Chatsworth. But why Chatsworth? Well it was the first Leg of the 2017 Event Rider Masters series and a 2nd year for Sarah being a key member of the Social Media team.

This exciting and ground breaking series really thrusts the sport of eventing into the spotlight and offers a great spectator experience across all channels, not only live streaming online for free, but also live streaming through Facebook as well. With developments in the production side for 2017 this weekend we could push out high quality videos within minutes of it appearing live on our screens and through some rather funky camera technology we could get images of the action and get them out on the live Twitter commentary within a matter of seconds, creating even more ways to follow the action. Reaching eventing fans all around the world the social channels were BUZZING!! However, Sarah may now be typing #ERMeventing in her sleep after including it on every single tweet throughout the weekend.

Manic May doesn’t stop here though, with new British Eventing events coming on board with EquiConsulting, new brand clients and even more riders to work with it is busy, busy, busy. The next stop in the stately home tour sees us head to Houghton Hall in Norfolk for the CIC*** and the 3rd leg of the Shearwater Insurance Tri-Star Grand Slam – so a lot more social media coverage to tackle and some prize presenting to manage!

With an expanding team, we’re still offering Rider Media Management & Marketing services as well as expanding our portfolio of brands, so please do get in touch if you’d like to learn more, especially about how you could benefit from an increased social media presence and coverage.
